There’s something for everyone at Red Rock Canyon; for the more active recreationists there’s activities like hiking, camping, biking, off-road driving…and for the more leisurely folks there’s photography, especially along a 13-mile scenic drive through Red Rock Canyon with plenty of scenic stops and trailheads along the way. So many great photo opps!

The Hoover Dam

Located about 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas in Black Canyon spanning the Colorado River between Arizona and Nevada, Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity type dam standing 726.4 feet tall and weighing more than 6,600,000 tons. Hoover Dam was built during the Depression and took less than 5 years to complete. It was one of the largest dams of its time and remains today a world-renowned structure. Hoover Dam is open to the public daily and there are various tour options to choose from: Guided Dam Tour, Guided Powerplant Tour, and Self-Guided Visitor Center Tour. They’re bald, they’re blue, but these three guys will rock your world. The Blue Man Group will take you on a spectacular journey full of music, laughter, and surprises that will unleash your spirit and blow your mind! Valley of Fire State Park

You know that punny saying, “Geology rocks!” [sorry we can’t help it lol!]

Valley of Fire State Park is a great place for kids, as it’s world-renowned for its 40,000 acres of bright red Aztec sandstone outcrops nestled in gray and tan limestone. There’s also ancient, petrified trees and petroglyphs dating back more than 2,000 years. Valley of Fire State Park’s Visitor Center provides exhibits on the geology, ecology, prehistory and history of the park and nearby region. The park is open year round, has numerous campsites, and even offers WiFi access.

Rescued Treasures Cat Cafe

Rescued Treasures partners with local animal shelters like The Animal Foundation and takes in cats facing homelessness on the streets and houses them in their cafe. Their staff and fosters care for the cats and kittens, working with them to get them ready for adoption. Cats stay at the cafe until they find their forever homes. As the cats are adopted, Rescued Treasures Cat Cafe reaches out to their partners to bring them more cats and kittens thus being a part of the solution to saving their community cats.
