Online Events and Virtual Activities for Kids
We pride ourselves on having the most virtual events and online activities for children and families - if you know of a wonderful activity we should have on our calendar, please contact us and let us know!
Camp is all about inspiring creativity in kids at different ages! These activities will keep your kids not only entertained and engaged but give them a zeal to DIY and upcycle things that are around them. Day 1 (Monday, 12th Apr) Sock Puppet Making – A sock puppet is a puppet made from a sock or similar garment. It is amazing how an old sock can transform into a character and things that seem otherwise hard in DIY seem easy with guidance from the trainer. Additions can be glued on in order to give the sock a personality. We will make our puppets, name them and weave a story around the characters. Materials required – Socks, adhesive, cardboard, scissors, colored paper/ beads/ foam sheet, any small decorative that you have. Day 2 (Wednesday 14th Apr) Book Sculpture & Corner Bookmarks – Create some cute DIY bookmarks to encourage reading for kids or for yourself. Transform an old book into masterpiece! Bring an old book and sculpt out your own design. Materials required – Any old books, any marker or sketch pens, glue, colored or white papers, scissors. Enjoy our Inaugural Arts and Crafts Fair. Our theme is Spring! with an emphasis on Mother’s Day! and Graduation! Each seller has a posting showing their goods as well as a link to their online store (if they have one). They may have more than one post depending on the categories of items they sell. In their postings, each seller will explain how they would like payment and how shipping will work. All transactions are between buyers and sellers directly and Craft Arts Collective has no involvement or responsibility for these transactions. If you would like to search, we are all starting our posts with the category of items being sold. The categories are as follows: Fine Art Graduation Home Jewelry Kitchen Mother’s Day Wearables Our “Fair” will last the entire weekend so take your time, browse, invite your friends and of course buy some unique gifts from some amazing small businesses.

They are ready to share warm and fuzzy rainbow books they picked up from their favourite bookshop of all time, Hares and Hyenas. It’s the queer playschool of your dreams and influenced by early nineties Play School, Lift Off, Sesame Street and with a healthy glitter sprinkle of RuPaul’s Drag Race. A comedy TV show sure to make little and big kids giggle – celebrating individuality, rainbow families and reflecting the ever-changing performativity of gender. Be sure to tune in and share it near and far! Instructor Bio Ty Yamamoto is a Chicago-based filmmaker, photographer and Japanese translator with a passion for the art of folding paper. Ever since childhood, Ty has enjoyed teaching origami to his friends and colleagues. Throughout college, Ty taught origami to numerous students through his roles at organizations like Japan Table, Asian Cultural Exchange and more. *Once you register, you will receive an Eventbrite confirmation email which will include a “View Now” button that will take you to the Zoom link to join.
