Monterey Bay Aquarium Virtual Field Trip
Today’s virtual field trip is taking us to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Located on the ocean’s edge, the aquarium is a window into marine life — for dive masters and non-swimmers alike. It’s home to sea otters, penguins, sharks, jellies, and thousands of other marine animals and plants. Whether you homeschool full time or temporarily, we know you’ll enjoy the Monterey Bay Aquarium! We’ve also got aquarium coloring pages and an educational mobile game from the Monterey Bay Aquarium! Sea Nettles (Jelly Fish) Sea nettles look gentle but don’t let these invertebrates fool you—those gently trailing are covered in stinging cells! Find Online Homeschool Events for Kids
Free and Easy! Calling all kids to participate and make a rainbow – use paper, yarn, paint, repurposed recyclables or whatever is available – and place it in a window visible to the street – then we can all walk around our neighborhoods on a fun scavenger hunt looking for as many rainbows as we can find! Be sure to tag or forward to neighborhood friends so everyone can participate and we all will have more rainbows to find! Another fun idea to get children out of the house while still practicing social distancing! Brought to you by Fun Things for Kids. Tag us in all your photos we want to see! While the Cincinnati Zoo is closed and kids are home from school, let us help make your children’s hiatus from school fun and educational. Join us for a Home Safari Facebook Live each day at 3pm EDT where we will highlight one of our amazing animals and include an activity you can do from home. To watch our live videos just go to the Cincinnati Zoo Facebook page and scroll down. It will appear like the most recent post on our feed. You will not be able to see the videos from this event page. Once the live video has ended the video will remain on our Facebook page so you can watch later if you can’t make it during the live session. Don’t have access to social media? No worries! All videos will be posted on our website and to our YouTube channel shortly after the Facebook Live ends. The at-home activities will all be posted to this webpage – http://cincinnatizoo.org/home-safari-resources/
